PINHOLE WORKSHOP

TTLC was delighted to collaborate with Timbuktu in the Valley in working with the local youth to build and photograph with pinhole cameras.

Thank you to Abigail Nel and Haroun Loukidis who facilitated the course.

A pinhole camera is a simple camera without a lens but with a tiny aperture —effectively a light-proof box with a small hole in one side. Light from a scene passes through the aperture and projects an inverted image on the opposite side of the box, which is known as the camera obscura effect. Wikipedia

Timbuktu in the Valley is a Learning Space in Lorentzville, Johannesburg, devoted to equipping local youth with skills that allow them to become independent, self-determined citizens. Our aim is to expose young people to options for possible careers and independent income generation and enable them to become active agents for change in this world.

Below are the results of the "experiments"!!
