SEVEN COLOUR SUNDAYS

Through the Lens Collective introduces the Seven Colour Sundays is a series of seven photowalks and zine making workshops by lens based artist Remofiloe Mayisela.
Hosted every first Sunday of each month, it is a three hour workshop which includes a photowalk and a zine workshop. Exploring a different colour theme each month.Materials are provided for in the workshop all you need is a cell phone to photograph.
The zine workshop and photowalk using a cell phone is an easy, fun, creative and approachable hands-on workshop aimed at any kind of audience, from children and their parents, to teenagers and adults. It gives participants an opportunity to experience basic zine construction and an introduction to photography using the tool you carry the most, a smartphone. 
Participants are encouraged to reinterpret the monthly thematic colour, making use of a range of materials, their own photographs and combining unique storytelling to create a publication to take home.

A fee of R 200.00 per participant is to be paid in full prior to the workshop. (see posters for dates) Once a fee is paid, email proof of payment to throughthelensc@gmail.com to secure your space in the workshop.

Bio: Remofiloe Nomandla Mayisela (b. 1994) is a lens-based artist from Johannesburg, South Africa. She is a Through The Lens Collective and Market Photo Workshop alumni. Her work is primarily self-portraiture and has a great performative element. Mayisela`s imagery explores aspects of women's lives, through her own experiences. She uses her work to question cultural and social patriarchal taboos. Her work Lip Service has been shortlisted for the 2022 Contemporary African Photography Award.
